SSHVault ("the Software"), provided by Life Simplified ("we," "us"), is built to keep your SSH credentials private and local. This Privacy Policy explains what data we — and our payment processor — handle.
SSHVault stores all your data — hosts, SSH keys, passwords, certificates, and other credentials — locally and encrypted on your Mac. It contains:
The Software does not make network connections other than the SSH/Telnet connections you explicitly initiate, and the offline license check against the key you paste in.
Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects the information needed to process your order — name, email, billing address, and tax data — and acts as the data controller for that payment data. See Paddle's privacy policy for details.
From Paddle we receive your email address and the fact of a successful purchase. We use this to:
We retain your email and license record for as long as is needed to support your license (resending keys, processing refunds, etc.).
With your consent, this website uses Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC) to understand how the site is used — for example, which pages are visited. Analytics is off by default: no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google until you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. You can decline, or change your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Google may process this data as described in Google's privacy policy.
Aside from analytics, the only other outbound network call from our product pages is the Paddle checkout script, which loads only when you click "Buy".
Your vault is encrypted at rest using strong, modern cryptography and unlocked by your master password (and optionally Touch ID). We have no copy of your vault and no way to recover it if you lose your master password. Exported .sshvault files are likewise encrypted with a passphrase you choose.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the data we hold about you (your email and license record). To exercise these rights, email support@lifesimplified.app.
SSHVault is a developer tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted here with a new effective date.
